A most interesting and informative Public Meeting was held in Kirriemuir Town Hall on Thursday evening. Guest speakers were Graham Lang from Scotland Against Spin, Dr Rachel Connor who gave a presentation on the risks to public water supplies, Helen McDade, Head of Policy at the John Muir Trust and Stewart Miller from International Raptor Research and Conservation.
Despite a disappointing public turn out everyone present was given a huge amount of information to digest. This was a really good opportunity to learn more about the damages and risks associated with large industrial wind turbine developments and to see Macritch Hill in the wider context of of the political and economic climate in Scotland.
The message to take away is that we are not fighting local developments in isolation. With the up coming election we all have the chance to be talking to our would be parliamentary representatives and we must raise the question of Scotland's Energy Policy.
SNH have responded to the Energy Consents Unit and have OBJECTED to the Macritch Hill development.
